Russellville PD to hire 5 officers

The Russellville Police Department is getting some new employees.

The department has been given the approval to fill five patrol positions.

“We needed these positions filled,” Police Chief Chris Hargett said.

The city is also getting a new truck and the library is getting a new copier machine.

“These two pieces of equipment are very much needed,” said Mayor David Grissom.

City officials said the city will beginning advertising for bids for the 2018 Ford Crew Cab truck for the street department.

The copier at the library will be replacing an older model.
