Grant would update airport plan

The Russellville City Council is applying for a grant from the Federal Aviation Administration for a new layout plan for the city airport.
Mayor David Grissom said the grant is for $82,887.
“We have not had a plan done on the airport in 15 years,” Grissom said. “This will take a look at where we are, and where were want to be in years to come.”
He said plan would look at the needs of the airport, located on Alabama 243, in regards facilities, runways and security.
Garver Engineering will be doing the plan.
